Busy Start

We're off to a busy start to Hurricane Season already. We're currently monitoring two named storms(Dora and Brett). Neither of these storms should impact the Gulf Coast. Tropical Storm Dora, located off the West coast of Mexico, is expected to weaken over the next day or so, making landfall along the coast. Hopefully Texas will pick up some rain, as they are experiencing one of the worst droughts in 117 years. We could see some of the rain as well. Tropical Storm Brett is currently off the Atlantic sea board and is expected to push out into the Atlantic, and will eventually fizzle out.

There is another tropical wave off the coast of Africa that will be coming our way. We'll continue to monitor it and keep you informed!

If you haven't already, now is the time to fabricate a storm preparedness plan, especially if you live on the Gulf Coast. Talk with family members inland to weigh your options for temporary shelter, devise a punch list of things to prepare your property for an incoming storm. That is one of the blessings of a hurricane, they allow for a decent amount of time to plan, whereas tornadoes do not.
